Bitcoin-netwerk
Een stijgende difficulty is slecht nieuws voor miners: dezelfde hardware verdient een kleiner aandeel van elk blok. Hij wordt elke 2.016 blokken bijgesteld, ongeveer elke twee weken.
Halving-aftelling
Bij de volgende halving halveert de blokbeloning, waardoor de verwachte waarde van elk solo-lot van de ene op de andere dag halveert. Aan je stroomrekening verandert niets.
Transactiekosten
Fees horen bij de uitbetaling van een blok. Bij een drukke mempool is de beloning voor een gevonden blok flink hoger dan de blokbeloning alleen.

Waarom deze getallen ertoe doen voor een solominer
Difficulty is je concurrentie
Je kans op een blok is je hashrate gedeeld door die van alle anderen. Stijgt de difficulty, dan daalt je kans in dezelfde verhouding — en hij stijgt al een decennium onophoudelijk.
De koers bepaalt de prijs
Een blok is de beloning plus fees waard. Dat is een vast aantal BTC, dus de eurowaarde van winnen volgt de Bitcoin-koers direct, terwijl je stroomrekening dat niet doet.
De halving halveert de prijs
Elke 210.000 blokken halveert de beloning. Je kosten blijven gelijk. Reken dat mee voordat je hardware koopt die je jarenlang wilt draaien.
